I was at the Gwangju Folk Museum today for their...I can't read this...where's the English one...Moon Festival. Anyway the Folk Museum was open for free today so I took a look around and took a lot of photos.
When I got to the currency section (2nd floor, close to the balcony) I saw this
Sorry about the image quality. This was the best I could do; damn glare and damn rechargeables that always die when I need them most.
Yes, that's right- a Bill Clinton fake 3 dollar bill. I stopped in my tracks; do they really think this is real? It doesn't even say "United States of America" it says "Disgruntled States of America" and on the top instead of "US Federal Reserve" it says "Queer Federal Reserve". For the signature, it says "Truman Capote". Wasn't he a comedian?
They gotta know that's a fake. Then again; these are so rare, why not have one in the collection?
See, this is what I love about Korea; when you step outside your door, you have NO idea what you are going to see. I can't wait till Monday; will I see a dinosaur in Cheju? Only time will tell. |

Was there a card describing it in Korean or something? But yeah, you're totally right about not knowing what will happen once you step out the door. That's what makes Korea so much fun.
Truman Capote btw was a gay writer famous for Breakfast at Tiffany's and In Cold Blood. I wonder why they chose to put his signature on it.. _________________ We're not savages, people, and we don't have to live like this.

| Haha, nice find! Is that the museum in/near the Biennale Park? I might have to pay a visit. |

I think so. The bus stop is the Jeollanamdo Office of Education (not Ssangyoung apartment- lousy directions). Across the street is the big national museum.
You gotta go thru the parking lot and the tunnel which runs underneath a street. That's the best of my knowledge.
@javiskefka
I remember the Hillary ones from years ago. But these are rare. |
